We create a place for meetings and inspiring community

Just a year ago, we dreamed about a place, where different activities, involving people of various ages and social groups would meet. We envisioned a place for human reciprocity, where different inspirations can mix and find a space for rising synergistic effects.

Today this place is a reality, you can visit us and see it with your own eyes. Prostor 8 is a brand new center for personal development, education and exercises. We are at the edges of Vinohrady, Vršovice and Nusle. Different age groups are coming for a range of lectures and lessons - it starts with 3 month old toddlers and goes all the way to elderly people. Here you will find dance, singing, martial arts, company training, male and female circles and variation of personal development courses. We also offer babysitting in the evenings.

We fulfill the meaning of our name (Prostor means space) and 8 stands for the eight directions for which we created the space and which are balanced in our center:

Mind and Body,  Movement and Stillness, Professional and Personal, All age groups: Children - Youth - Adults - Seniors.

Many miracles have happened during the year of preparation but we have exhausted ourselves and our financial reserves. Prostor 8 has started to pulse with life and we are fine tuning operations and finishing important construction details. Now we need support to complete our project and to survive our first winter. It will be tough, not only weather wise but also financially as we learn to operate during our first season.

We have to finish the rooms, insulate them and also silence them… we are asking you for your support so we and our project will not freeze.

We have a beautiful place, a great team of instructors, a growing community of visitors and others gathering around the project. If you also dream about a space for meeting and inspiration, join us and become part of Prostor 8.

Who we are

We are Martin, Vanda, Jana, Tomáš and the other Tomáš, Maruška, Pavel, Matouš, Aleš… and dozens of other people who share their part in creating Prostor 8. We are a team with 10 years of experience in projects for people behind us - Cafe Bistro Zahrada, "forest park kindergarten" Živé děti, club Aikido Praha Vinohrady, educational programs for businesses, experiential course Egon for high school students and different culture events.

All this experience has come together here to create Prostor 8.  

We have been working on this project for more than a year now. We were looking for the right space, preparing architectural plans, acquiring permits, looking for investors, refurbishing the building and also filling it with equipment and program. There are only few tiny steps missing for finishing it up.

How much money do we need and what for

The amount of 480.000 CZK is needed simply to survive the first winter. The season started very well at the beginning of September 2017 but the winter will be tough in terms of temperature and also management. We need to finish the following things to be able to go further:

  • Insulations - the space used to be workshops and warehouses and we need to insulate them on time so we do not “freeze”.

  • Sound proofing - this is needed so we are not too loud in the courtyard and so that our neighbors will like us even more.

  • Equipment - devices, chairs, tables... so you can have something to sit on when you come in large numbers to celebrate this campaign with us.

If we manage to raise more money, we will be able to enhance our programs in these amazing rooms. For example, the babysitting for neighbors and visitors will be more frequent and we will also start with regular evenings dedicated to interesting people from the fields of education, business, personal development, culture etc. We have further dreams about programs but at this moment we do not have the production capacity. If, thanks to you, we raise higher amounts, we will be able to afford another team member who will help us with realization of these dreams.

Crowdfunding (and HitHit) is very often used for creation of good projects. We already have a project and we would like to finish it and improve it with your support.

    Kniha Krkonoše na starých rytinách a litografiích
