We saw the necessity for this campaign when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, that’s when we lost basically all main sources of income and so our hands got tied and we couldn’t produce art the way we intended for 2020. However the problem is more long-term and complex. We want and need to not only continually create, but we also have to push the quality of our art to a higher level. The international music market requires to have quality music supported with quality audiovisual material. With material that will bring Slovak music production to a competitive level with world's profesionals.
LOVE GAMES is a project through which you can support Slovak music to achieve this level of quality. Your contributions will help facilitate the production of two professional music videos for our two new singles from the album NEON. The music videos are centered around contemporary romantic relationships which, thanks to the modern ways of communication, are starting to resemble videogames. However, due to the complexity of this theme, we're going to need professional (and mainly your) help. To support the overall experience we want to create a quality audiovisual world for you, that will capture the themes' intricacies and the feelings of sorrow from a broken heart.
The debut videos of THE YOUNIVERSE were literally created in house in a DIY way. We counted on our own skills and technical proficiency. By having all aspects under control, we were always able to deliver an honest authentic product, but it's time to raise the bar higher! Up the quality! Do things in a better way! And that way – walk out of the shadow, bring Slovak music to a world-class level and make a name for Slovakia in the international music industry.
Extravagant, energetic and timeless rock'n'roll from Trencin & Bratislava, Slovakia.
“Right around 2015 a band called THE YOUNIVERSE emerged on the Bratislava music scene, their main duo - a couple, Tammy Nižňanská & Jerguš Oravec - dreamt and experimented with fusing genres. They wanted to create a band which would sound as if Led Zeppelin & Kanye West had a baby together. (source: hudba.zoznam.sk)” In 2017 with Adam Olexík a Šimon Vladár the band settled on their stable members and for three years THE YOUNIVERSE has been a show of perfect instrumental harmony and unison. Our style is a fusion of blues, rock’n’roll, electronica and pop. We complement the music with interesting conceptual performances (project A day in the life of a band, CMYK pop-up) and conceptual albums (Debut album CMYK split into four print colors - Cyan, Mangeta, Yellow, Keyblack). We like our performances to be extravagant with a healthy dose of sass.
We have year-long tours across the entirety of Slovakia, by which we've built a strong and healthy fanbase. We had the honour of playing the biggest festivals in Slovakia such as Pohoda Festival and Grape Festival. This year was supposed to see us playing at the international Colours of Ostrava festival, but due to the current situation, we'll be seeing each other next year :). Our debut album CMYK has been nominated multiple times for the Radio_Head Awards, that is for: album fo the year, debut of the year and two singles of the year. Recently we've played a concert on the national TV - STV1 where we were guests at the music programme 3PODIA along with Richard Müller and rapper Vec. In January of this year, we've recieved the annual awards of the Artists & Performers' Union in the category: Discovery of the year 2019 and our lovely singer Tammy Nižňanská got awarded in the category: Singer of the year 2019.
We're currently working on our second album NEON, which will see the light of day by the end of 2020. Like the very project the album is also dedicated to the theme of contemporary romantic relationships. It shows that relationships are staring to move into the virtual world and what happens there can often be stronger than reality...
