When Daniel got the call to prepare a special Christmas Eve programme (2017) for the jazz club U Malého Glena in Prague, he didn't hesitate and involved a guitarist who he's been acquainted with for a long time, but never played with – Kirill Yakovlev. Together, they invited the phenomenal Israeli drummer Utsi Zimring who travels between his two homes – Prague and New York City, and also a long-term collaborator of both protagonists – saxophonist Cyrille Oswald. The creative chemistry between both bandleaders led to the continuation of this project as an organ trio that has gradually re-invented itself into a truly unique phenomenon on the Czech scene. The organ format begins to incorporate the role of piano, duduk, balalajka and percussion as solo instruments and the original music of Organism has built a trademark sound and color inspired by cultures spanning from Thailand, through India, Russia, Scandinavia, all the way to North and South America. Currently, the project works with two drummers – Utsi Zimring and Petr Nohavica – both of whom have extremely varied yet complementary approaches to their instrument. This allows for interesting combinations including live performances with both drummers at once.
Our debut record is the first step for Organism on to the European music scene. It is a statement that this is us and we stand behind this sound and concept 100%. We have been working on this record from summer 2018 and it is the selection of the best music that the both of us have created over our careers so far.
Unfortunately, as freelance artists, we were some of the first people to get hit economically by the Covid pandemic, and will be the last to get back to normal. With no warning we've lost practically all income with an absolute minimum of aid from the government. The music industry is in for some very bad times and we can't afford to invest money that we will likely need soon to survive this. From the very start it's been our goal to make no compromises when it comes to the production quality of our music, and we don't plan on ever changing this attitude. And that is where you – our fans, friends, colleagues and potential sponsors – come in.
Our goal is to release the album as soon as possible and get the music out there to as many listeners as possible. However, if we do manage to collect more money than our original goal, it will also significantly help us finance the ambitious CD release party (presenting our first ever audio-visual performance with some incredible guests, who will be disclosed soon). Organism is also planning two international tours for the year 2021 with its current programme – in Denmark and Israel – which you would be supporting.

At 20 years old, keyboard player Daniel Bulatkin is already one of the leading voices of young jazz in the Czech Republic. Despite his young age he actively collaborates with world-famous players such as Ulf Wakenius, Justin Faulkner, Tineke Postma and Gergo Borlai. Kirill Yakovlev is a skilled crossover guitarist and composer well-known from his previous project CIRILIC, but also from many other bands where he performs as sideman. Inspired by world music, americana, ambient, blues and jazz traditions, Organism pioneers a new synthesis of genre and sound in the organ trio paradigm. Their upcoming debut album "The New Beginning" sports a total of 11 original compositions of the creative duo that will pull the listener into their eclectic musical world. The CD will be released in June/July 2020.
"Both very talented guys, two of the brightest stars on the Czech jazz scene..." - Brian Charette, Grammy-nominated organist & producer (NYC)
We understand if you are unable to support the project in these difficult times, but we still kindly ask you to please follow and share this page. Over the duration of the campaign we will be posting everything we have concerning the album – including radio shows, 3 live videos from the studio with brand new singles "F-Major Tune", " June 17th" & "Anavi", and also a new EPK video for the album where we talk about our collaboration from both a musical and human standpoint. And maybe we'll even manage to release our last video in time – a vocal outro for the whole album ;)
Thank you for your help!
Daniel and Kirill
