Lakeside X - LOVE DISAPPEARS

Dear friends, fans and supporters, we would like to release a new album LOVE DISAPPEARS, on which we are currently working on together with German producer Daniel Myer (Haujobb, Covenant, Architect). The album will feature 10 songs including released single “Fire in the Sky” and upcoming single release “Rising”. The amount collected shall be used to cover expenses for the album production, mastering, audio and visual collaborators, manufacturing of the record and booklet. If we succeed to collect in excess of the target amount, we shall use the funds for production of a new video or new songs above the planned number, or, as the case may be, remixes from the interesting artists.

How did it begin?

We have been more than 10 years away, silent, hibernated. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t heard of us before, because this is something like a new beginning, with an imaginary memory of who we were and what we went through. This time, in the shade of the pandemic and on-line transfers of ideas, we have joined once again to let the new album be born.

In 2019 I was wandering through the streets of Berlin, listening to Nick Cave, U2, Bowie, Depeche Mode and I was writing to myself some glimpses of thoughts, that would later become new song lyrics.

I read the book Midnight Nation from Michael Straczynski about a man, who was stolen a soul and he must set out on the journey through the in-between world to get it back. About people, who fell down a crack in the time/space and started to disappear from the real world. I have started to write songs about a journey, disappearing, falling down, but also about rising up from ashes and hope.

And I picked up the phone and called guys from the band if we go for it, same as before, together. And because they said yes, and because we would like to push our frontiers and make our music constantly better, this time we have taken on our journey with us a renowned electronic music producer Daniel Myer, who has (except his rich discography with bands Haujobb, Covenant, Architect or Radioaktivists) worked as well on mixes and remixes for such legends as Depeche Mode, Recoil, Nitzer Ebb or Front 242.

From the first song we made together, it was clear, that this is the way we want to go and we would like to make a whole album this way. This time as a pure electronic album, full of synths and sound imagination.

Another help on the journey is the distribution platform Musicraft, and as well the renowned electronic magician Moimir Papalescu, who is in charge of mastering and overall sound design of the album.

Because the times are what they are now, and for musicians, producers, sound engineers and generally people from the music industry even harder, we care about that everyone involved should be properly and fairly paid. We wish our new album is top quality in every aspect, and this is why we are now here, so that we could through the crowdfunding campaign collect part of the funds that we spend on the album production.

What is our goal?

New LAKESIDE X album shall be named LOVE DISAPPEARS, it’ll be out in 2022 and it will be a collection of brand new songs written within 2019-2022.

The album is planned to be released as CD digipack with booklet containing lyrics and visuals from our cooperating visual artists.

Concurrently, the album will be out digitally on all available platforms.

We produce the album with Daniel Myer - so you may look forward to a combination of our “English” songwriting with the “German” sound full of energy and electronics. There is even one surprise in store - it will be our first album featuring a guest artist.

We have prepared some interesting rewards for you and we do hope, that you are going to like them, as well as our new album LOVE DISAPPEARS.

Who we are?

LAKESIDE X are today Janne Marvannen (singer, composer, producer), Robert Broj (keyboard player, manager) and Igor Dvorsky (drummer, visual director). We have released 3 albums so far (the first one under name Lakeside Church).

We like Depeche Mode - and you can probably hear it from the music. Maybe we have the same creative process in common with this bunch, but we also believe that our music is original enough and recognizable on the first listening.

We make things ourselves, with help of friends and guests. We avoid major labels (or do they avoid us?), anyway - this is why we need your help even more this time.

Why are we doing it?

Music is our life, we enjoy making it and with great humility and grace we see that our music is liked by friends and fans around the world. Our genre is not a mainstream, but we believe that it will find its audience.

We like to push ourselves and make our work better all the time, and we wish our music would get even greater audience, so that everyone who might like it would be able to learn about it.

That is why we decided (besides releasing singles before album release) to use the HitHit campaign as well and to invite our fans and friends to join us and give them an opportunity to pre-pay the album (or to pre-order other interesting rewards).
